My Passion

I am finally combining my passion for photography and my love for animals; I am having a great time doing it. It’s like being on assignment, striving to capture the exact right instant and that perfect moment. That fraction of a second that the shutter is open that’s better than all the other seconds before it or after… that instant moment that results in the perfect image.

My Experience

I have been a professional photographer for many years. As a Photojournalist my work has been published on the front pages of The Washington Post, USA Today, The New York Times and other national and international publications. I shot assignments for The Associated Press, Reuters, Agence France-Presse and Getty Images. Prior to going freelance in 1991, I was a staff photographer for papers in Seattle, Washington, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia. Along with the daily assignments you usually get working as a photojournalist, I had the pleasure of shooting the summer Olympics, multiple World Series and every post season Braves baseball games between 1991 and 2005. I shot a bunch of Atlanta Hawks basketball games especially back when Lenny Wilkens was coaching and at least winning the division titles. I also had the pleasure of shooting a Super Bowl here in Atlanta and got the chance to run up and down the sidelines after Michael Vick a few times over the years. I have chased hurricanes from North Carolina to Florida and tornadoes all over the Southeast. I am sure I am leaving out a bunch of stuff, in short they were exciting times. My client list as a commercial photographer includes national corporations such as Delta Airlines, BellSouth, and Emory Hospital. I worked as a contract photographer for the New York Times best-selling book America 24/7. I received my Masters of Fine Art At Georgia State University and taught photography at The Art Institute of Atlanta for the last seven years.
